Nottingham luxury replica handbags designer targets Selfridges with new brand

After growing disillusioned with the throwaway culture of the fashion industry, a university lecturer has taken matters into his own hands by launching a new ethical replica handbag brand – which he hopes will soon be sold in Selfridges.

Lee Mattocks, of Sneinton, creates luxury accessories using his own interlocking seam design, which he says will avoid waste because they can be adapted and customised.

He has already sold several hundred products since launching his business, called Mattox, three months ago and is now set to launch a second batch of designs, which include animal-themed replica handbags.

Mr Mattocks, course leader of BA fashion accessory design at Nottingham Trent University, said: “The ethical consumer is massively on the rise so you see a lot of brands doing ethical campaigns and introducing ethical materials now.
